I have been in love with photography for as long as I can remember I don't actually remember when it started, I loved the ability to freeze time in an instant or moments in a video, once I figured out how I saw other people do it I knew I wanted to be able to do it as well
Cars and bikes have fueled my imagination since I was young—especially the classic 1967 Mustang GT, the kind of machine that feels alive. That early fascination shaped my love for automotive photography, where metal, motion, and personality meet.
But even with my heart in horsepower, I’m constantly drawn to nature. Living in the city makes every quiet landscape feel like a breath of fresh air, so I capture those peaceful moments whenever I can—places that calm the mind and reset the soul.
People, too, fascinate me. Everyone carries a kind of beauty—subtle, imperfect, and real. Through my lens, I try to reveal those honest moments, the ones that remind us that humanity itself is worth photographing.
My name is Matthew Downie, I’m 24, and I’ve been passionate about photography for most of my life with 2 years of professional experience. Fueled almost entirely by caffeine, I’m always ready to shoot or edit whenever needed. Music is a big part of who I am and always keeps me inspired.
